Tom Allen - Owner/ Operator

Tom Allen began his career with The Fitness Edge as a substitute spin instructor and volunteer. He offered his services as a business consultant and throughout the next two years developed into the Business Manager and interim General Manager. He decided to purchase The Fitness Edge business and commercial building in May of 2011. Today, he is the Owner and Operator of both The Fitness Edge Inc., and The Fitness Square LLC.

Tom is also a graduate of Interlakes High School. His success in Track and Field earned him an athletic scholarship to Northeastern University. With a dual major, Tom graduated college in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Logistics and General Management. He later returned in 2007 for his Masters in Sports Leadership. During his undergraduate years, Tom set numerous athletic records and still holds the University’s best mark for javelin. His biggest accomplishment is being the only athlete to win 4 consecutive New England Conference Championships in the history of New England Track and Field. He was also recruited by the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation to try out for the U.S National and Olympic Bobsled teams during his senior year. 

His Olympic career sent him around the world and to 3 Olympic Games. First, as an athlete to Albertville, France in 1992, then, as a Coach and Team Manager to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2002, and finally, to Torino, Italy in 2006 as the Olympic Team Leader. During the off season, Tom was on the road recruiting the next generation of Olympians; 2 of them have since won Olympic Bronze in the 2010 games in Vancouver, Canada and Olympic Silver in the 2014 games in Sochi, Russia. Tom says, “The highlights of my Olympic experience, were watching our women’s team win Gold at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake and Silver at the 2006 Games in Torino.” 

Tom has also been the Program Director at the Utah Olympic Park for the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, a Track and Field Coach at The University of Florida and an Operational Manager for a home heating and oil company. He is delighted to be home in Meredith, enjoying the many challenges of owning a small business, giving back to the community and spending time with family and friends.

Reception and Front Desk

Lisa Decker 

Lisa has been a member of The Fitness Edge since 2009 and joined our front desk team in 2012. She quickly received her Spinning certification and enjoys introducing “newbies” to this form of group exercise. She will tell you, “So many people think indoor cycling is too intense or hardcore for them, but it really is one of the most adaptable exercises you can imagine. You control your speed, resistance, and position. I am just a DJ with ride suggestions.”

Lisa lives here in Meredith with her husband, Kevin, two children, and her black lab, Elliott. She has completed the Circle Triathlon Sprint, the Timberman Sprint, two times, and multiple 5K’s all throughout New Hampshire.

Brenda DeNinno

Brenda DeNinno moved to the Lakes Region in the Fall of 2014 after spending 20 plus years as a summer and weekend resident on Lake Winnipesaukee. She is a retired Massachusetts school teacher, having spent 22 years as a middle school Physical Education teacher and 10 years as a Guidance Counselor. A high school coach for a number of years in Wakefield, MA, Brenda thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent on the softball diamond, field hockey turf, and basketball court.

When she herself stopped playing competitive sports, she took up jogging which led her to complete 15 consecutive Tufts 10Ks from 1990 to 2005. Brenda went on to complete 3 marathons. She ran the Boston Marathon twice and the New York City Marathon once. Today, she enjoys an active lifestyle in the Lake’s Region and feels right at home with The Fitness staff and all of its active members.

Laura Horne

Laura is currently a student at Lakes Region Community College, with the goal of later attending Plymouth State University to study Special Education with a focus on Autism. A native of Lakes Region, she currently lives at home in Moultonborough with her parents, youngest brother, two dogs, and three cats.

Laura will be working in child care and at the front on the desk. Say hello to Laura and meet one of our youngest aspiring staff members.




Lynn Leighton

Lynn has been a member of The Fitness Edge since 2003. She enjoys working out at the club and personal training two days a week with Liz Litell. She and her husband, Brad, live in Center Harbor with their dog, Loudon and also have two grown boys living on their own in Meredith and Moultonboro. Lynn enjoys camping, traveling, being outside, listening to music as well as spending time with family and friends. Say “hello” next time you’re in for your workout!




Susan Lennox

Susan Lennox grew up in Western Massachusetts and graduated from Ludlow High School. She attended college pursuing a Science and Liberal Arts degree while also working full-time in healthcare, fitness and volunteering with animal rescue. She completed her college experience at Murray State College in Oklahoma with a degree in Nursing and is currently a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire. She and her husband, along with two rescued horses, their rescued dog, Tucker, and three cats moved around the Northeast from upstate New York to Wilbraham, MA.

Susan has two children from her first marriage. Her daughter Kaleigh was born in 1989 and her son Andrew was born in 1991. She developed the childcare services program at their church, taught prepared childbirth courses and raised her family on a farm in Wilbraham, MA when the children were still young. Now, she is happily remarried to Gary and they share a son, Brandon. She describes her home as a place where many friends and their children gather and she enjoys volunteering at local schools. She and Gary built a greenhouse business from the floor up and sold it in 2010 to move to Meredith. The Lakes Region offers her the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, all four seasons and she is proud to call New Hampshire home. Her renewed commitment to her own health and fitness along with her love of children has brought her to work in childcare at The Fitness Edge…Life is Good!

Margie Simonetti 

Margie has been a member of The Fitness Edge since 2005. She and her husband of 41 years, Bob, moved to New Hampshire after his place of work was downsized. Like many others, they had kept a summer home in the Lakes Region for years and seized the opportunity to retire to Meredith.

As Margie tells it, “Not knowing anyone, I joined The Fitness Edge, where I have met so many nice people and good friends. When a position became available to work the front desk at The Fitness Edge, I decided to come out of retirement part time. It is the best thing I could have ever done. I love meeting people and making more friends.”


Instructors and Trainers

Noel Bodwell

Noel has been teaching yoga since 2002 and leads our members through a number of Yoga styles and sequences. She has a BS in Physical Education which she received from Plymouth State in NH. In 2009, she retired as a Special Education teacher from Laconia Middle School after a 30 year career in education. We enjoy her guidance during the summer months, as she currently spends her winters in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Noel has completed 7 marathons, numerous road races from 5K’s to half-marathons and trail races up to the 20 miles long. Not to mention, she also participated in Masters indoor track. Although she has left the racing circuit, Noel enjoys staying active by hiking, trail running, paddling, x-country skiing and snowshoeing. She spends her time off with her husband, Kim, and her son, Ian.

Noel explains, “Teaching yoga at The Fitness Edge provides me an opportunity to assist people in using their breath as a thread to connect their physical, spiritual and emotional selves. Yoga is a path to self-discovery. Taking the lessons I learn about myself on the mat into my daily life is the essence of my yoga practice.”

Heather Allen

Heather is a 200 hour Yoga Registered Teacher (YRT) who graduated from the Vidya Vinyasa School of Yoga in Sandwich, New Hampshire.  Her teachers, Katie O’ Connell and Melissa Scagliarini, are local studio owners who continue to support Heather’s growth and the yoga community.  The Vinyasa School exposed Heather to insightful theory and the transformational power of yoga.  Focused on proper body alignment and harnessing the energy of your breath, Heather leads students through fun, flowing classes.  She believes, “A little sweat can change your body, but breath can change your life.” She is also certified in PiYo, which combines a cardio element with yoga to provide a stimulating practice that builds heat, power and balance. 

 Heather loves the outdoors, come snow or shine.  You can catch her trail running, snow shoe racing, hiking and snowboarding.  According to her, New England is the best place for a nature lover.  After all, she left the Rocky Mountains at age 29 and never looked back.  She lives in Meredith with her husband, Tom.  You might recognize him.  He works here too!  She pops into classes as much as possible and says, “If you see me in the club, challenge me to 10 push-ups.  I love a good workout partner!”

Tom B.

Tom B. has over 20 years of experience as a coach and personal trainer. He has worked at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado for the USA Triathlon & USA Swim Teams. Tom has been Head Coach of many USA Swimming Clubs and has worked as an athletic administrator at several sports facilities. Today, he is a personal trainer for The Fitness Edge in Meredith, New Hampshire and an Assistant Swim Coach for Plymouth State’s swimming and diving teams.

Tom is a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and certified by APEX Nutrition. APEX helps endurance athletes fuel their bodies during training and competition. Combining optimal daily and training nutrition, supplementation, strength to weight ratio, and optimal metabolism, Tom can design a meal plan for anyone who is serious about their performance goals.

Tom is also USA Track & Field Level I Certified, USA Cycling: Sport, Expert, Elite Certified and ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) Level II Certified. Having worked with the world’s top athletes, Tom pulls from his experience and extensive educational background to help the everyday athlete improve their technique, endurance and overall health.

A nationally registered EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and Paramedic, Tom also holds a Masters of Education in Athletic Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. He enjoys working with clients of all ages and offers them the unique opportunity to be trained and performance tested like an Olympian.

Joanie Barnett

Joanie Barnett RYT-200, lives in New Hampton NH on a road to nowhere, with her husband and two boxers. This native of Laconia is a long time employee at Laconia Water Works and can be sometimes be found behind the bar at The Looney Bin Bar in Weirs Beach. Naming her business Mooning The Sun reflects her light hearted sense of humor and genuinely happy outlook on life. She is available for private or semi-private instruction. Visit for information.

Joanie enjoys skiing, motorcycling, stand up paddling (SUP), gardening, and baking. Her formal practice of yoga began about fifteen years ago. Joanie attended Vidya Vinyasa YTT at Dragonfly Yoga Barn in North Sandwich; graduating in May of 2015. She trained under the guidance of Melissa Scagliarini, E-RYT 500, owner of Satya Yoga Studio & VVYTT in Plymouth, NH and Katie O’Connell, E-RYT 500, owner of Dragonfly Yoga Barn & Retreat; Joanie was trained in SUP Yoga by Michelle Clarke, owner of Moondala Yoga and Full Moon Paddleboard in Wolfeboro, NH. Joanie has American Red Cross CPR and First Aid training.

Joanie enjoys laughter filled class time. She wants every student to practice and follow their individual path. She is always smiling. “Practice vinyasa flow on your mat or a paddleboard with me; it’ll be fun!”

Julia Capron

Julia Capron grew up in Meredith, NH where she developed a love for fitness through Nordic Skiing. As a high school athlete, she worked out at The Fitness Edge to train for ski season. After graduation, she moved to Montana for college where she started running triathlons and completed her first half-marathon.

There, she also became a certified Oula instructor and now teaches Oula at The Fitness Edge on Wednesday nights. “Oula is a high energy, dance fitness class set to top 40 and pop music. I love Oula because nothing is more fun than being able to sing and let loose during a workout!”

Tim Curry

Tim has been a member of The Fitness Edge since 2009. He Graduated from the University of Maine in 1993 and became a high school history teacher and eventually settled in New Hampshire. He has coached nearly every high school sport from hockey to soccer, tennis, lacrosse, softball, baseball, rowing, football, and yes, cycling.

At the age of 14, Tim got his first job in a local bike shop and never looked back. He has enjoyed touring, racing and building bikes ever since. Today he commutes to work, as much as he can, and teaches spin at The Fitness Edge in an attempt to bring the joy of cycling indoors.

“Commuting by bicycle is an absolutely essential part of my day,” says Tim. “It’s mind-clearing, invigorating and relaxing. I get to go out and pedal through the Lakes Region twice a day, drink up the scenery around me and soak up the fresh air. It is the perfect beginning and ending to any day.”

Amy Green

Amy's journey into yoga began about eight years ago on the advice of my doctor, Colleen Nolan APRN. Colleen, also being my Mom's Doctor, encouraged me to try yoga before taking a medicinal route for anxiety and depression. Was she ever on the money.   

Yoga was not an instant love for me.  I was intimidated, fearful, and did not have a single friend here who I could go with. It took a huge amount of courage, to go in and sign up.  The teachers I had and still practice under were real women: funny, serious, curvy, toned, younger, older, intuitive, warm and light-hearted. One thing they all had in common was that they cared about their students, recognized them, called them by name, asked questions and just had a connection to them.  I felt love from these strangers, and I was hooked.  

I'm a forever student of yoga and try to further my education as opportunities arise, as well as popping into near and far studios in my free time.  My first 200hr training was with Christina Alexa through Abhyasa Yoga Institute, and my second 200hr training was with Melissa Scagliarini and Katie O'Connell at Vidya Vinyasa Yoga. I've also studied in Yin Yoga with Josh Summers and Thai Yoga with Karen Kenney.

Kathleen D’ Haene

Kathleen is a Spin instructor for The Fitness Edge in Meredith, New Hampshire. She has been a member of The Fitness Edge since we first opened our doors, and she quickly became a group fitness instructor for us less than 2 years later. Kathleen says, “I love everything about The Fitness Edge, the people who work here, the classes they offer and most importantly, the members. They are more than friend, they are family!” 
In her other life, Kathleen is the mother of 4 children ages 21 to 30. She is married to her lovely wife, Amy, and she enjoys the privilege of being the Principal of Moultonborough Central School. 

Laura Dodge

Laura is a Spinning certified instructor for The Fitness Edge and has been a member since 2003. Her journey started here when she decided to get healthy and shed 140 pounds! Through diet and exercise, she has maintained most of the weight loss and remains committed to staying active and healthy. Laura has since completed a Triathalon, raced in several 5K’s and enjoys mountain climbing.

Becoming a Spinning Instructor has helped Laura to stay the path. She says, “I believe it is NEVER too late to change. My motto is, NO EXCUSES! Be persistent, consistent and never, ever give up.”

Laura Thorndike

Laura is a native of New Hampshire who always knew she wanted to teach. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Champlain College and her Master’s in education from Plymouth State. Laura went on to teach in a variety of classroom settings, ranging from early childhood to undergraduate adjunct faculty. Most recently, Laura felt it was time to merge her passion for teaching with her enthusiasm for fitness and group classes. She feels inspired by knowing she can encourage others to make fitness a part of their lives!

Laura lives in Center Harbor with her husband, Pete, a contractor, and her two young children, Elsa who is five and Pierce who is three. She enjoys gardening, trail walking and hiking, cooking and spending time with her family. 

John Eisner

John Eisner grew up in New York City, and is a graduate of Manhattan College and Fordham Law School. He was a four year member of both the Manhattan College Track and Cross Country teams, earning All-American recognition as a senior. While working as an attorney he continued to compete in running races of all distances, including multiple Boston and New York City marathons. John moved to New Hampshire in 1985, and in 1990 began competing in triathlons, which he continued to do for the next 20 years, including an Ironman finish in 2004. He has been a certified spin instructor since 1996 and an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor since 2014. He has been the coach of the Moultonborough Academy boys and girls cross country teams for 3 seasons and will do so again for as long as possible. John lives in Meredith with his wife Kathleen and a golden retriever named Finnigan.

Kristie Ennis

Kristie Ennis DPT, CSCS, began her career in the health and fitness industry in 2001. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, she worked with clients in Vermont to help them achieve their weight loss goals and also guided athletes with sports nutrition. Kristie also taught both land based and water aerobics to the general population, senior groups, and prenatal groups.

In 2003, Kristie became the Norwich University, men’s and women’s swim team’s coach. Having a love of how the body works and moves, she pursued her doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT), attending Franklin Pierce University and graduated in 2006. Dr. Kristie Ennis has worked in the orthopedic outpatient setting since graduation and loves treating the patient as a whole person. In 2014 she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), allowing her to work with clients through every step of their health journey!

Kristie enjoys participating in triathlons and has completed 2 full Ironman races. She also takes part in a mentoring program for girls called the Circle Program. She joins us at The Fitness Edge as a group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.

Nicki Faro

Nicki Faro lives in Meredith, NH and works as a dispatcher for the Meredith Police Department. She is a Certified Spin Instructor and what we like to call a “gym rat”. Fitness Edge has become her home away from home. It wasn’t until a couple years ago that Nicki discovered what she is truly passionate about and that is living a healthy lifestyle, sharing her story with others and lifting heavy things! Nicki can relate to so many people in so many ways. She has had her ups and downs on her journey to become fit and healthy and she loves to share what she has learned with others. She has been training to compete in her first figure show while working towards getting her ACE Group Training Certification.

When Nicki is not at the gym she enjoys hiking and mountain biking with her boyfriend, spending time with family and friends, making others laugh, eating peanut butter and cruising in her Jeep.

“5 years ago, I would have never believed that this is the person I was meant to be. I have found my calling and what I am passionate about and I love that it’s something that can help motivate and inspire others.”

David Levesque

David Levesque has been a Spin Instructor since 2006. In 2011, David completed his first Boston Marathon. He was the founder of the Granite State Triathlon Club in 2003 and since that time has completed two Ironman Triathlons, as well as multiple marathons around the country. David enjoys teaching, training and is glad to be back at The Fitness Edge where he can motivate others and offer guidance.

A graduate of Plymouth State College (PSC), David has a degree in Physical Education and continued on to earn his Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling as well as School Administration. In 2011, David was inducted in the PSC Athletic Hall of Fame. Today, David lives in Meredith and enjoys spending time with his daughter Jordan.

Liz Littell

Liz has been with The Fitness Edge since we opened our doors. Today, Liz holds certifications from AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) for group and personal training, Mad Dog Spinning, IFTA (Interactive Fitness Trainers of America), Punk Rope and Spartan. Throughout the years, Liz has taught Spin, Bootcamp, Cross Edge, Kickboxing, Punk Rope, Step, Tabata and classes for active seniors. In addition, she designs Spartan training programs to prepare athletes for obstacle races and improve their overall fitness. Liz competed in her first Figure Competition in 2009 and won two, 2nd place trophies along with 5th place in the overall Masters category. 
As a personal trainer, Liz helps clients reach and maintain their weight and strength goals. Clients have been as young as 11, and others more “mature” in age whom may have never experienced strength training of any kind. Still, some clients have been collegiate or professional athletes in need of off-season training. Recognizing that all people have different fitness levels and goals, Liz brings all her knowledge and experience to every personal and group training session.

Liz also teaches at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, where she introduces the basics of personal training skills, group instruction, various methods of resistance training and core fitness concepts to eager students.

Russ Jones

Russ is a consummate martial arts student, practitioner and teacher. He has had the honor of being a student of Grandmaster Peter Rose since 1987. Working his way up from Disciple (2nd Degree Black Belt) since 1995, Russ attained his Master (5th Degree Black Belt) in 2013. Now, Master Jones offers Karate and Tai Chi classes all around Lake Winnipesaukee to students young and old.

Master Jones is also a Chen Tai Chi student, practitioner and teacher. He has studied with Herb Rich, Wang Hai Jun, Chen Zhenglei and Henry Oliveras. He is also a student of Dr. Fujon Li, an Oregon State University Exercise Scientist and developer of Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance; a program designed to help reduce falls in older adults.

A licensed Asian Bodywork Therapist as well, Master Jones was appointed by The State of New Hampshire as the Asian Bodywork Therapy Representative to the State of New Hampshire’s Somatic Board. He offers Asian Bodywork Treatments (Shiatsu) at his office, Sachem Health, located adjacent to The Fitness Edge in Meredith.

Mio Kerr

Mio has been teaching fitness classes and training clients since 1992. She began training at the Squash Club in Boston, taught classes at the YMCA in Ipswich, Massachusetts and was recruited to teach at several other clubs on the North Shore including Newburyport, Salisbury and Danvers. Mio is experienced in teaching Step, Kick Boxing, Spinning, Pilates, Power Tone and Yoga.

In 1994 Mio became a Certified Personal Trainer through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) and enjoys working with individual clients to help them reach their fitness goals. In 2005, after being a long time summer resident, Mio moved to Center Sandwich, New Hampshire. She took a break from the fitness industry for 2 years while she owned and managed The Sandwich General Store. Then, in 2008, the store was sold, and Mio returned to fitness instruction.

Mio joined The Fitness Edge staff in 2011. In addition to leading group exercise, Mio loves to play tennis, cook, and mountain climb.

Gina McGuire

Gina is a Registered Nurse, holds a Bachelor of Science and earned her instructor’s certification from AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). She is also a professional, motivational speaker, author, teacher and fitness instructor at The Fitness Edge, and a television/DVD presenter who considers herself the founder of The Human Body Fan Club!

Gina can be found leading a Dance Party class, Zumba, Power Tone, Step, Yoga or Meditation practice. In addition to being a high school teacher, she operates a business called The Bod Squad and speaks around the country on caring for your health. Gina has 4 children and lives in the Lakes Region with her husband and family. She sums it all up by saying, “I love life!”

Katie O’Connell

Katie is the owner of Dragonfly Yoga Barn, is a fun-loving yogi known for eating copious amounts of dark chocolate, she enjoys singing and jamming with her musical friends, snuggling with her 3 cats, 2 kids, and husband Declan, and can be found doing yoga in the mountain forest, on a rock, in a river, in snowshoes, on the beach… anywhere!

Katie is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), she has been practicing yoga for over 16 years, teaching yoga for over a decade, and has completed 500+ hours of study with her primary teachers and also has certifications in Yoga Therapy, Thai Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and is a Level II Reiki Healer.  Additionally, Katie co-directs the 200 Hour Vidya Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Dragonfly Yoga Barn in North Sandwich, NH.

Katie has been teaching at the Fitness Edge since April 2003—only Gina Maguire is her senior as a Fitness Edge employee!

Liz Rohdenburg

Liz has been teaching in the fitness industry for over a decade and dazzles students during Zumba at The Fitness Edge. Since 2008, she has infused her classes with energy, fun, and passionate dedication.

With a flare for high energy dance moves, Liz has developed a strong following of current members at the club. She leads students of all ages and genders through different eras and styles of music including Oldies, Hip-hop, Salsa, and many of those beloved 80’s jams. Probably the most fun you can have during a workout, Zumba will get your feet tapping and your heart pumping with Liz at the helm. Liz’s charisma on the floor and well developed choreography will prove that Zumba is adaptable to all fitness levels. She is glad to answer any questions you may have and welcomes members to stop by before or after class.

Jen Schongalla

Jen loves all kinds of yoga, from calming restorative practices to fiery sweaty vinyasa. She enjoys sharing yoga with anyone who is curious and describes yoga as an adventure to explore our inner landscapes and discover how they connect to the outer landscapes we navigate on a daily basis. She is fascinated with how breath tunes us into messages from our bodies and how it helps clear out the cobwebs that keep us stuck in our ruts and patterns.

Jen studied with Maureen Miller of Yoga NH for both her 200-hour and 500-hour certifications. Her practice and teachings are influenced deeply by the Ashtanga tradition, earth’s wisdom and natural cycles, her personal intuition and sense of wonder, FUN and also what she calls her “rather dorky enthusiasm”. Jen has taken workshops with David Williams, David Swenson and Sadie Nardini. She is a Reiki Level 3 and Shamanic Reiki Practitioner. Jen explains that, “Everyone I have practiced with or taught has also taught me, and they are part of my continual evolution. I am truly grateful for all my teachers.”

Off the mat, you can find Jen in the woods, running, hiking, sitting on a rock or hugging a tree. Yes, she really hugs trees. Occasionally she paddles the Pemi River or hangs out in a rural village in the Dominican Republic playing “red light green light,” learning Bachata and resilience. At other times, she is on her couch watching “Friday Night Lights” or digging in the garden with her plant-whispering husband.

Lenore Sousa

Lenore Sousa is originally from Sandwich New Hampshire. She began her dance training with Paula Vinzi of Moultonborough, NH and continued dance training until she earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Dramatic Arts with a Dance emphasis at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. While at Dickinson, Lenore also completed her BA in Anthropology and interned at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.

She has worked for Dendy Dance and Theatre, Boston Lyric Opera, Real Women Dancing, Terminal Hip Dance Theatre and is currently dancing for Tributary Dace Company and instructing Barre at The Fitness Edge. Our ambitious and graceful Ms. Sousa has taught dance for Boston Children’s Opera and is the former Owner/Operator of Lakes Region Dance. Lenore is a fitness and cardio dance instructor who has taught a variety of fitness classes at Holland Hill Studio in Moultonborough and The Fitness Edge in Meredith.

Currently teaching students at Plymouth State University, Lenore focuses her studies on Modern Dance, Jazz Dance, Ballet, World Dance, History of Modern Dance, Dance Composition and Movement Concepts. Remaining a student herself, she is also working toward her Masters in Education. Members of The Fitness Edge are so fortunate to have such a disciplined and highly trained instructor. Manna Stark 

Manna has been a Yoga teacher for The Fitness Edge since 2005. She attended the Stillpoint School of Advanced Healing, completed the Touching Spirit Professional Training Program and the Sanctuary of Universal Light Integrated Yoga Teacher Training.  She received her Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher certification in 2006 and holds a 500 training certificate from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.  Manna is standing member of Yoga Alliance and the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association.

Manna explains, “As a teacher of yoga, I believe that yoga is more than simply exercise.  It is a centuries old tradition that has managed to remain with us through the ages.  I love introducing yoga to skeptical newcomers and watching the change that occurs for them in just one class.”  She enjoys nothing more than introducing yoga to beginners.

Stephanie Corts

Stephanie Corts grew up in Meredith.  She started taking kids kickboxing classes at the Fitness Edge when its doors first opened, and she has been a member ever since. She graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida in 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education and has pursued her teaching career at Inter-Lakes Elementary School as an ESL teacher. 

Stephanie enjoys running, taking spin classes, Barre classes, and weight lifting. She danced for 15 years growing up, and loves how Barre class offers a high-tempo, high-repetition workout that promotes long, lean muscles! After having her son in July 2016, she decided it was time to share her love of fitness classes with others and get certified to teach Barre. Stephanie is a Balanced Body Barre trained instructor.

Diahnn Thompkins

Diahnn Thompkins MS, RDN, LD is registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is a licensed dietitian in the state of New Hampshire.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Marywood University.  Diahnn offers a holistic approach towards Health & Fitness that encompasses the full integration of physical, mental, and spiritual states of wellness.  Her coaching philosophy includes establishing and maintaining a healthy quality of life, by recognizing behaviors that impact health and well-being.  Diahnn assists her clients to adopt a lifestyle based on habits that support healthy bodily function and longevity, such as eating a balanced diet, engaging in physical activity, acquiring sleep adequacy, and practicing stress management. 

Diahnn’s experiences in food and nutrition education enable her to easily communicate the science of nutrition to the general public in an understandable format.  She has a diverse professional background, which includes serving 11 years in the U.S. Army, where she spearheaded several Physical Training Programs.    She also has experience training for endurance sports and physique competitions, which compliments her broad knowledge of nutrition.

Diahnn was employed by Sodexo and served as the Campus Dietitian at Plymouth State University.  Currently, she works for Diabetes & Nutrition Services at Concord Hospital as a Nutrition Counselor and Educator.  Diahnn is also a prospective graduate of the Eating Disorders Institute Program at Plymouth State University.

Britney Waldrip

Britney has been a member of the Fitness Edge since 2010 and became a certified group instructor in 2016. She enjoys a variety of exercises, especially challenging classes taught by other instructors including her mentor, Liz Littell. 

Britney is currently a Registered Nurse and has just joined the Orthopedic floor at Lakes Region General Hospital.  She is continuing her education for her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and would also like to continue her fitness education to become a certified personal trainer. 

Britney lives in Sandwich with her boyfriend, her son, and his two sons.  She enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, including camping, hiking, kayaking, running, bicycling, and swimming.  Britney is loving being a part of the Fitness Edge team and growing as a group fitness instructor.

Lisa Womack

Lisa Womack is a Certified Pilates Instructor and has been involved with Pilates training for the past 14 years. She began practicing Pilates in Bermuda in 2001, continuing for several years until she began certifications for training. Her formal training includes her most recent comprehensive Certification of the Classical Pilates Method in Barbados, through Pilates of Boca Raton, Florida. Other training certifications include Balanced Body – Boston and TX, Ron Fletcher Method – San Antonio and Dallas, TX, and Physical Mind – Dallas, New York and Bermuda. Pilates originated by Joseph Pilates as a form of rehabilitation and physical therapy for sick or injured patients, POWs, and later athletes and dancers. Lisa says, “all are welcome”.

Lisa also has a background in musical theater and dance including classical Ballet, tap, Jazz, modern, hip-hop as well as on-going education focusing on kinesiology, anatomy and physiology.

Betty Webster

Betty is a former guidance counselor who has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She graduated from Vidya Vinyasa's 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program in May, 2012.

Betty lives in North Sandwich where she raised her three children, and she enjoys the peace and beauty of life in the mountains and woods of New Hampshire. She was an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) on the Sandwich Fire Department for 22 years, taught CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and also has a gardening business.

Betty teaches classes in Vinyasa flow, Gentle yoga, and Yin yoga. Attention to alignment, human anatomy, enjoyment of the newness of each yoga session, and the introduction and integration of yoga into daily life are of special interest to Betty. When she is not teaching yoga at The Fitness Edge or guest instructing at the Dragonfly Yoga Barn in North Sandwich, Betty loves being outside, gardening, painting, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren! She is available for private or semi-private yoga training.

Kristin White

Kristin is a group fitness instructor who has been a member at The Fitness Edge since our doors opened. She has enjoyed fitness as an important part of her life for decades and has recently made the decision to help other members realize their true potential by becoming an instructor. Kristin enjoys helping our members improve their fitness levels and teaches Bootcamp, Cross-Edge and Power Tone classes.

Kristin is a real estate agent for The Dow Realty Group, Keller Williams in Meredith. She lives in Meredith with her husband and two children.

Child Care

Susan Lennox

Susan Lennox grew up in Western Massachusetts and graduated from Ludlow High School. She attended college pursuing a Science and Liberal Arts degree while also working full-time in healthcare, fitness and volunteering with animal rescue. She completed her college experience at Murray State College in Oklahoma with a degree in Nursing and is currently a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire. She and her husband, along with two rescued horses, their rescued dog, Tucker, and three cats moved around the Northeast from upstate New York to Wilbraham, MA.

Susan has two children from her first marriage. Her daughter Kaleigh was born in 1989 and her son Andrew was born in 1991. She developed the childcare services program at their church, taught prepared childbirth courses and raised her family on a farm in Wilbraham, MA when the children were still young. Now, she is happily remarried to Gary and they share a son, Brandon. She describes her home as a place where many friends and their children gather and she enjoys volunteering at local schools. She and Gary built a greenhouse business from the floor up and sold it in 2010 to move to Meredith. The Lakes Region offers her the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, all four seasons and she is proud to call New Hampshire home. Her renewed commitment to her own health and fitness along with her love of children has brought her to work in childcare at The Fitness Edge…Life is Good!
